I went directly to Bills website to check it out for myself, sadly:
Bill's will close on Feb 4! Oh no! I might not make it back in time to enjoy:
- The yummy steak and eggs breakfast at 3 am for $6.99
- The greasy Old Strip feel with the tons of lights adorning the exterior in complete 70s style
- The quick shortcut to the Flamingo by walking through Bills from Bally's in the 102 degree heat
- Playing the slots I love that left Bally's and Paris (lord of the rings, the price is right)
You might think I'm joking, but I'm not. I absolutely love Bills! They had Fat Elvis performing multiple times/week for years. The ornate decorations adoring the exterior was a throwback to the old strip (in my mind). We could always see Bills from our window in our room at Bally's. Now, I think we will have a great view of ....construction...for a couple years.
**If you get a chance to go to Vegas before Feb 4, please visit this wonderful spot between Bally's and the Flamingo. It is a small casino with lots of attitude. Quiet enough if you are cooling down from a long night, close to everything, and the late night special was nothing short of required after gambling and partying until 3 am. **
I'm sad. You will be missed. I loved you, Bill!
